50TH.
The delayed release.
30 JAN 2027 / EVERYMAN LEEDS
Permission granted ↓Tonight’s feature: UPGRADE (2018)
Better late than never
Ageing. Now with
added cinema.
My 50th birthday celebration is running a little late. And what better way to celebrate than hiring out a cinema to show an incredibly bleak and violent film about AI? The years are catching up. We can’t let them win.
Join me for a private screening of Upgrade at Everyman Leeds. If you came to my 40th, you’ll know the drill: same place, older faces.
Written and directed by Leigh Whannell, who wrote the original Saw, Upgrade also has an amazing soundtrack by Jed Palmer. A film best enjoyed on a big screen, with the sound turned up.
There’ll be food—mainly pizza, with vegetarian and vegan options—and a welcome drink on us. Unfortunately, I know what some of you are like, so I can’t afford a free bar.
Your afternoon, upgraded
